    Hey folks - do you run your control linkages straight back, in the same plane as the rotation of the servo arm? It occurred to me that the elevon hinges aren't perpendicular to the linkage arms when running the linkages straight back, resulting in left-right movement of the control horn. Should I be using ball joints on the elevon horns to remedy this, or is the small amount of twisting that will occur negligible?

    Also, I plan to use Dubro 2-56 steel control rods and delrin clevises and horns. Is this rigid enough for the mini-Z?

    All of my control rods run straight back.

    Hey folks,

    This is my first wing. Appx. what throttle should I plan to launch and cruise at for FPV purposes? I'm running a 25A ESC, 2200kV RCTimer motor with a 6x4E prop, and a 2200mAh 3S lipo. AUW is about 670g, so it isn't excessively heavy.

    On a 3s pack, launch at full throttle, be ready for a bit of roll. Some of us 4s guys have had issues with torque roll on our launches, but I've never had that problem with any of my 3s builds.

    You should be able to cruise at 3/4 but in my experience, I always end up flying around at WOT. the faster I go, the better she tracks usually.

    Hopefully some other fellas can chime in and share their experiences.

    I launch mine a little more than half throttle. MicroDan 2505 2335kv on 3S and 5.5x4 prop. My AUW is 598 grams. I give it a good hard toss. I don't like doing more than 3/4 throttle because of the torque roll.

    Launched like normal and then just started feeling like it was WAY tail heavy. Gave it full throttle to try and shake out of the tail heaviness but it torque rolled into a spin. I bailed on trying to pull it out due to the tight quarters of the location.

    Bummed.

    that is a bummer. mine flew the same way yesterday after many great flights. I was able to get mine back in one piece. Still not sure why it flew that way. Nothing was changed from previous flights.

    Crazy right? It was a little wild when i first built it, but I had since gotten it dialed in perfectly. Last couple flights it had a mi d of its own...

    Well you got 2 years I got 3 throws. It never flew. It's cracked in half on my bed.
