Vac Pack them is what I do.

Yes I know it is high for PLA so it may very well be incorrect readings. As soon as I drop to 225 the nozzle clogs half way through the print. I use PLA for a pen printer so it also may have extra elements that require a higher temp?
It splutters a bit at 240 but 230 prints like a champ.

They're called desiccant packs, or Silica Gel Packs.

The ones that "come with everything" may be no good as they expire once exposed to open air, since once they have absorbed moisture they become full just like a sponge.

You can buy fresh Silica Gel Packs from Amazon. If you buy "indicating" Silica Gel packs they change color when they expire. The indicating beads once expired can be baked out in an oven and the color will return to the ready state so they can be re-used.

I use them in air drying systems for pressurized RF waveguide systems and we routinely recycle the beads as they expire. I also use it for drying the argon in my TIG welder.

    Thanks for the info!

I actually was reading a few other things about storage of filament and found same info about the color changing beads.

So I instantly ordered some. Figured why not right.

Buy it once and reuse! Sounds logical to me.

Im also going to use bags(vac) to store them in.

Having good luck storing my Nylon filament in a Ziploc brand weathertight storage container with an Eva-Dry de-humidifier (reusable dessicant) thrown in. Also picked up a cheap digital hygrometer. The setup takes a 55% avg humidity room and brings it down to 25% in the box. Noticeable improvement in the nylon.

Can anyone help me out? I need a part printed. I am away from my home for several weeks and a I don't have my 3D printer here with me but i do my my FPV gear and plane. I fly a Parkzone T-28 FPV and and unfortunately after many great flights I just totaled it. I have a new one on order, but I need this part to make up for the weak front landing get set up on the T-28. Without the part the firewall breaks on the first rough landing. The plane should be here in a few days or I would order it from Shapeways which takes forever to get.

If someone is willing to print these and mail it to me I would be happy to pay a few bucks via paypal. Just PM me if you can help me out and I will give you my address etc. Thanks!

    Jim
