They run on 3S but are a bit underpowered, maybe 2x 2200 3S for 6S power?

Dynam now has a BF-109 and FW-190 too!

    Hey J.
I gotta say man.. your mustang thread was a real inspiration. That "flying over the lake" video you put out really sealed the deal for me. I've always avoided pan/tilt setups in order to keep my setups simple, but watching you fly around and check things out.. the thought of formation flying and tracking other planes with your camera while flying.. I must have that. (I often fly with friends, so it would make getting into formation so much easier)

Anyways.. I'm putting my traxxas slash up on the selling block for cheap, hopefully i'll have nearly $450 for my parkflier budget, which should be MORE than enough.

Here's what i've got in mind at the moment:

Airframe: Haven't decided yet. probably a parkzone/eflite/dynam 1000-ish mm in size. Must be hand launchable.
Motor: I think this one is equivalent to a POWER10 eflite motor.. a typical hopup for unlimited vertical on their parkfliers. Less than half the price. As long as I can still get those verticals despite carrying the extra weight of the FPV gear.. I'll be happy. Should I be considering a bigger motor than this still? What are your thoughts? I'm not very good at motor selection.
    Camera: 600tvl sc2000's $50 miracle cam.
    OSD: super simple mini osd
Pantilt: Does anyone own this one? It's cheap as all heck.. is it suitable? What servos should I get for it?
HeadTracker: I'll be buying the dominator HT module, paired through my 9x with ersky9x board.
Esc: I think I'll use a ritewing 65a esc I have lying around.. should be suitable, yes?

Any input you guys can offer on this setup is appreciated. VitaminJ in that lake video you covered a good amount of ground, were you flying UHF, or 2.4 or what?

Thanks again for all the insights guys.

Amen bro... i do the same thing.

I use these cameras quite a bit and one thing I usually do is simply drop a bead of hot glue on the connectors once it's all connected, that way I don't have to worry about the cables getting unplugged. I've had that happen to me too.. it sucks.. so now i just glue em on. Hot glue holds well and is easy to undo.

That's what i'm trying to decide still... right now the only extra RX I have is the 2.4 one that came with my turnigy 9x. Is it bunk? Is there any better RX that I can use that pairs with the 9x stock module or is that whole system junk? It's really a shame EZ doesn't make a $50 or $60 rx.. I'd put one in all my bigger planes. :|

I have that Pan/Tilt... I was very impressed with its simplicity and quality. As long as you keep the camera light you should have great results.

yea but with UHF you can also use a small ass antenna like this. It is easy to hide with little drag. I have gone out 1km behind trees .... and the antenna was covered in servo wire (testing). so I say good to 2km and that is all you need for a warbird.

Cool.. at that price, i'll probably order two so that I've got an extra in my shop.

Sanderstyle antennae are pretty easy to make and light as all heck.. if i'm going UHF, i'd probably just make one of them.
arg.. that means i'm adding another $100 to the fire right there. damn youuuu EZUHF!!! Damn your rock-solid links!!! >shakes fist in the air<

That is a pretty neat little antenna... you said that you have had good luck with it? Do you have Range numbers when mounted properly? Seems like a great solution for a quad.

I have no osd on my quad but gone about 1km out.... but I have flown it more than 1km in my twinstar as it has rssi and RTH. The biggest concren is banking as that is when the rssi dropped the most ... but hell look at that poor layout . In about 3 min mark you will see how I put it in the twinstar for testing

The real antenna I use on it is a 1/2 wave length.
