    Hello guys,
    hpcoolahan asked me to do a quick explanation for a successful use of the Futuba Radio T12FG and the Head Tracker.

    My equipment is:

    • Radio T12FG

    • Fat Shark Dominator Head Tracking Module

    • Dragon Link UHF

    First of all you need to modify the head tracking cable which is contained in the original package. Cut the end of the cable with the Futuba Trainer Adapter. We need to install here a Molex connector that will be connected to the Track port of the Dragon Link module (you could buy this connector from Dragon Link company).
    After you cut the cable look at the photo below and you should connect these cables in this way:

    • The black cable coming from the molex connector to the white of the Fat Shark cable.
    • The orange cable (signal) coming from the molex connector to the black of the Fat Shark cable.

    Anyway I followed this pattern but be careful how you look at it.

    The cable is ready and now we need to correctly set the radio T12.

    Go to the System menu -> Trainer -> and set:

    ACT/INH -> ON
    TEACHER/STUDENT -> STUD
    12/8 CHANNEL -> 8CH
    MODULATION -> PPM

    Remember to the connect the Pan&Tilt servo to the channel 7 and 8 of the Dragon Link receiver. Only in these channels the Head Tracking will work.
    Finally we should connect the molex connector to the Track port of the Dragon Link module and the other side to the goggles. The Dragon Link module is connected to the radio by the Futuba Trainer port. Now everything should work. Then follow the Fat Shark instructions for proper use of the module. If you have questions you can contact me.

    Thank you IMEIV , nicely done.
    Im sure this will help a lot of people with a non plug and play UHF system (like dragonlink)
    And will also give regular users the Futaba 12FG the settings that are known to work..

    Thanks

    Hi IMEIV, just to check, do you still need to power up the HT/Goggles via the normal power socket, or it is powered via the HT/Dragonlink cable?

    Previously I was informed here that I should not be powering it both ways, just one or the other.

    Thanks.

    I power up the HT/Goggles with the 2S 1000mha FatShark Lipo battery.

    Sounds like you are turning to far and tripping the safety feature.
    If its a migv5 tracker , you can dissable this feature in the HT menu.

    yeah , thats why Greg brought out the v5 , so it could be dissabled.

    If you start a ticket at support@fatshark ill assign your ticket to Greg , and when he gets back from holidays , i'm sure he can get you a v5 at a good price (im sure he still has some left)
    Then you can turn it off.
