the graup 9s act like 8" props. they should be really nice. and you could easily fly it on 4S. I fly 8045 on 4S with 1200kv

    Hi

Just wondering if people are having any success with the Sunnysky v2216 900kv motors on the Discovery? Are they reasonably balanced and do the bearings last? Or is it better to just go with the Tiger 900kv motors form the beginning?
Anyone have a link to some cheaper Tiger motors?

never used the motors you've mentioned. but i'm currently using Sunnysky 2212-13 kv980 and it's just totally awesome shoots like a rocket!

    here's my current setup:
    Sunnysky 2212-13 kv980
8inch CF prop (sometimes 9inch graupner)
    Fullymax 4s 3300mah 35C
HiModel FlyHyper 30A ESCs flashed with simonK
    FC acro naze32
    AUW 1460

i get around 8-10 mins with aggressive flying and up to 16 mins when cruising around. buzzer set to buzz at 3.5v/cell. after landing, there's 3.8v/cell left

Is 375 grams to heavy for a battery? Its kind of a blanket question I know but I'm looking at a 3300 325g and a 3700 375 gram.

    stgdz, no problem.
    I fly with 4S 4000mah (433gr) and 4S 4500mah (467gr) and my Disco flies great.
I dont even have to adjust the cog when I use both during the same flying session.
The 4S 3300mah is a bit to light for my setup in respect to balance.

Is anyone having an issue keeping forward flight? I'm using naza with gps and in normal mode off I let go of the sticks from forward fight it slams back and goes backwards for a few feet. I've used the same settings for the 700kv motors. Not sure what to do..

Sounds to me Matt that your gains are to high on the attitude side, also once it levels it'll often move a couple of feet and stay there on a calm day if its windy it should stay within 0.5m height hold and within a 2.5m diameter around where you let the sticks centre
