    I tried a smaller one of these some time ago. And I was pretty disappointed. Mine needed like 40 hours of perfect sunlight to charge completely. Hope yours is better.

    If it's taking 30 hours it's an amperage/panel size issue.
    You can build one with a 5v Pololu. The nice thing is that you can't overamp a phone, the charge circuitry is built into the phone not the charger itself. Just connect the raw wires coming out of any old solar panel to a 5v step-down voltage converter then wire that to a micro USB.

    I agree it's an amperage/panel size issue. As I said, the one I tried out was kinda cheap. It did make a decent battery pack to bump my phone from.

    This solar USB charge will be a great help if you are camping, hiking or any outdoor activities.
