I was able to get a little bit of work done on the HC 31 this week. I glued in the spars using Chris's suggested method using CA and a accelerator. I then went over the spars with some Beacon Foam Tac to fill in any space. I also glued in the motor mount. This had to be trimmed a lot to get it to work. As Ritewing uses one size fits all on their motor mounts. I also reworked the HC 44 camera mount by Atron73 on Thingiverse to work in the 31. I will upload this design to Thingiverse soon. Next on the list get the elevons cut and add some color.

Thanks. I took inspiration from a Ford GT.

I did the 31 maiden. It did not fly so well. I need to go back to the drawing board with the one. To get it to balance i had to use 2 1300 4s batteries. I was using a dys 2208 motor but i think i might have to go smaller. With the 1300's i think it was just 2 much weight for the wing.

Isn't that about the same amount of battery people are running in the 44"? This has a lot less wing area so I can see why that would be an issue. I wonder what the best way to fix it is.

I am going to buy a couple 2200 4s batteries and move esc and video transmitter to the front compartment. I was trying to be cheap and use an older 50a esc which was pretty heavy. I will get it worked out. Then it will fly amazing just like the 44.

I use two dinogy flat pack 1300 in para. Zero lead in the nose. Im running a 27g outrunner 2600kv w a 5x5 prop. Thing is a blast to fly!!! 5 5/8. the 31 need weight in the nose to fly good, so try and use batts to do it............Click image for larger version.

No one building and flying the HC31? I finished mine and had the first flight. My CofG is in the middle of the servo openings, 6 1/4 inches. Could not get the CofG from ritewing. It flew OK on 6 1/4" but is 5 5/8" the real CofG?
