    Cool Fixed-Wing | Proximity Flying

Since the main video thread has mostly been taken over by miniquad videos and there's now a dedicated thread for freestyle videos, I think it's high time to create a dedicated thread for good old Trappy-style fixed-wing mountain proximity flying. There aren't too many of us left who are still doing it, but those who do are producing some incredible videos and deserve a chance to showcase them without having them buried in an avalanche of miniquad vids.

To start off, here are my best mountain proximity videos from the last couple years. I've working on a new one which will be ready in the next couple days, so that will come in a separate post.

If you love screaming along ridges and diving down cliffs with a flying wing or other fixed-wing FPV plane, post your best videos here!

Love these. I lived in Evergreen Colorado for about 12 years. These make me miss home big time!

Some epic fixed-wing mountain proximity flying in Colorado's Mosquito Range near the towns of Alma and Fairplay. I did these flights in early June on my way to the annual COFPV meetup in Hartsel. These were filmed with my short-lived Chimera V2 which I crashed and destroyed the next day. Even though that Chimera had chronic stability problems, I managed to get rid of most of the bouncing using the deshaker filter in VirtualDub. Probably my best mountain proximity video to date. Check it out!

Oh and Provotroll, I couldn't help but copy your music choice. Great song for this!

We don't have any beautiful mountains to dive where I live, but I do like to get close to stuff all the time. This is from my Firmcore 51" prototype.

And here's one from earlier this year getting into some trees on my 37" prototype:

    Haha, good choice
I'm not Faux Tales and therefore not in the position to say who can use the music and who not. But I really liked your video and the music is indeed a great choice.

Nice vids! The mountain flying is getting really rare! I'm Still working on my confidence with range and capability. I find mountains a lot more intimidating then flying in close. Total loss or days of searching makes me nervous. Smacking a tree in close and replacing a prop is care free. There is ZERO RF in this location and not that far out but I'm proud of the few peaks I bagged here:

Here's my buddy Nick dragging us through the trees on his 51" wing and special 63" triple motor wing:
