    He was comparing two antennas, as such that required multiple tests as in plural tests.

    Here's another with two different pagoda brands as well as some other popular styles, now plural usage works all ways.

    There is a HUGE discrepancy between variants of the Pagoda. FarView seems to have it figured out. Bee rotor and Menace do not. This is one of those antennas that really needs to be done right.

    The problem with PCB types is that the PCB substrate varies a good bit between manufacturers and there is a good bit of loss when the PCB is thick like this. at 0.062" thickness you are looking at ~74-82% efficiency... which isn't all that bad, actually. I also don't think that little ring at the bottom does much of anything. I have tried just about every balun out there and I have yet to see a ring type like that actually work.

    That stated, you *might* be able to tune the bad units in by foaming them. With a good network analyzer and a Vector Voltmeter you could change the distance between the plates and add some foam and probably end up with a good antenna. If I get some time, I will see if I can look deeper into this design and see if I can refine it and get the efficiency up a bit.

    Um, theres a lot of tests out there, Josh Bardwell, UAVfutures, pretty much the entire youtube fpv community... It's an elite performing antenna.

    You can buy 160 antenna pcb set for $40 now.

    This maker has also tested the Seedstudio PCB and reconfigured a trippleGODA antenna, which he said has 2x the range, .74 SWR

    Well, thats the beauty of open source, you can build it for free and verify or not as you wish. However, your initial thoughts on pagoda design were proven wrong, results fit the sim and its an elite performance antenna, with a usable common coaxial cable.

    Also, the tripplegodda may be an apr 1 joke, I'm not sure about that. But c'mon you have to admit... $1 original Pagoda with possibly the best axial rejection of any flying design is a big deal.

    1 mm is only .04" tho... Specs are for 1mm
