Pagoda: Newest, best free design for FPV antenna, Circular polarized, omni and bett

    http://www.maartenbaert.be/quadcopte...agoda-antenna/

I have no idea if it's the best, I don't think anybody's tested it, but the simulation looks really good.

i'm sure it won't take too much time for people to Get real world experience.

I hope someone does a group buy on the PC boards....

    edit:

mar 2017... enough board to make 160 individual antennas... $40

https://youtu.be/-ntLWTmLHHA xjet will be testing it soon!
Some of the glaring parts of the design stand out.

"These specs are based on simulations of the Pagoda-2 design. I have not yet had a change to do real-world measurements of this design, I will update these specs once I have them. I don't expect huge differences, the Pagoda-1 prototype for which I do have real-world measurements matched well with the simulated results."

Simulations at microwave frequencies seldom work out to be real world patterns once the product is tested in a chamber and without access to such one is working blind.

That is a very odd looking bit of coax it is built upon.

And then there is the FAQ about "foaming" the antenna which I have problems with.

He said real world measurements matched well with the sim. And the simulation is still than you information you get from many a manufacturer. He also provides several sets to xjet.

rg402 shouldn't be very unusual, right? This info is all right there to make and test your own antenna.

Do you have anything to counter act his facts about polystyrene and the loss, shifting of only 10 MHz? What part of that seems unreasonable?

speaking of doing a group buy on PCBs... if anyone is interested in doing some real-world testing on this, they can be pre-ordered here: https://www.etsy.com/listing/472296846/

They should be shipping out in bulk in ~3 weeks or so.

I've had the opportunity to test a few in person, i need to get some proper test data still but from practical tests they work great! and with the TPU filler and cover they're nearly indestructible.

the real world tests are in line with the simulations... superior in many ways.

You are using plural "tests are..", further tests?

    Why would plural be incorrect?
