    Vortex 285 - Arming

Just put a new pdb and fusion gen2 in my Vortex after never flying it (broke usb off among other self-inflicted problems )

After assembly I fired her up and everything checked out ok (sort of)

Bought a DX6 and dowloaded the file for the vortex and installed into my DX6 via sd card.

I did the Rx set up wizard with newly loaded program. Controls were all working fine in CF.

Did a power cycle and now I am stuck on main screen at the top it says "Disarmed"

I tried throttle down to the left and to the right to try and arm among other things.

My question is this.... Does anyone know what the trick is to arm the vortex using the file dowloaded from the immersion website? Is it a switch? A combination? or do I have a bigger problem and need to adjust something in CF

thanks in advance for any help!

    Update****

I forgot to include my current settings

    1.0.0.3 BL
    1.0.0.28 OSD
    2.1.2 FC
    1.13 Ap

Installed the Vortex configurator and set up the new board as the 285 Gen2

Now anything I do in cleanflight is not saving to the Vortex

Also, when I open cleanflight its telling me that I am using an old version. How do I update?

If you use the gen 2 board you should flash the vortex 250 firmware instead of 285 firmware.

Thanks for the advice. I cant get anything to read the Vortex at the moment. Configurator, RC tools, Cleanflight wont work. My driver is up to date and the computer knows its there, Its just being a little bitch and wont talk.

You flashed the gen 1 firmware on a gen2 board that is your issue.

Ok, now what should I do? Is there a way to just start over from scratch?

YOu can try reflashing the board while shorting the bootloader pins.

So..... I tied shorting the BL and it wouldn't talk to the fusion board. I pulled my old gen1 board from my old pdb and swapped that in. Shorted the BL and got that board up and running. Flash fw, went into clean flight..... Everything was going great until I plug In the camera backwards. Put 5 volt into the video pin. Pretty sure the video TX is now toast and or the camera. Both new ones are on the way as well as another fusion Gen2 board.

As frustrating as my stupidity is, it's a heck of a lot of fun tinkering with this.

I'll update again once I have my eyes back in the machine. Those osd set ups can be pretty tricky without video output
