The latest document on file in PACER is an order from the judge dated May 5 establishing the following deadlines for the parties to file their briefs in the case:

    Petitioner’s Brief June 14, 2016
    Appendix June 14, 2016
Amicus Curiae for Petitioner's Brief June 21, 2016
    Respondent’s Brief July 21, 2016
    Petitioner's Reply Brief August 4, 2016

So basically all the briefs (arguments) in the case must be filed by August 4, after which the judge will rule whether the FAA's drone registration regulation should be struck down. The ruling should happen sometime in the fall.

And this lackadaisical approach to reporting is a large part of the problem.

    Corrected.

This lackadaisical approach to accurate reporting by management is a major part of the problem.

When you have consolidated clusters of newsrooms, staff is cut to the bone and most story's are a reputation of what just came across the net.

There is no time assigned to check accuracy, just get the Chyron's worked out and run it.

If it is broken, fix it. if it isn't broken, I'll soon fix that.

IBCrazy double posted, I am shocked . Good info. Read stuff today someplace (lots of changes lately!) where FAA specifically notes that Drone racing is illegal because of use of goggles - no direct visual contact. Just fricking stupid.

The FAA's interpretation of the VLOS definition ("no goggles" ) does not have the force of law. It's just what they perceive the law to be.

That said, drone racing will be legal in the FAA's eyes soon, because part 107 allows for goggles so long as a visual observer is used.

The FAA got an extension and filed its reply brief last week. Next I believe Taylor gets to file a rebuttal, but I don't know what the new date is off hand.
