    800mW VTx antenna

I have the int'l version of the 800mW 900MHz transmitter. I want to change antennas to a full wave dipole. Can I replace the stock one with a straight sma with the elements directly attached or do i have to load it with 50ohms/coax?

As long as it is built properly, using an SMA connector attached directly to the dipole should work fine! The only issue often seen with that type of setup is that the antenna winds up very close to other components in the build, which can affect the antenna performance and potentially block the signal.
