Heck, mine only pulls 50 amps at wot. Got the 2814/1700kv and 7x5 apc and it’ll probably do 115 easy if I want to puff the 5000 4s after 3 minutes. Seems to cruise easily between 65 and 80 at 15 to 22 amp draw.

Hi Scott. The secret Sauce motor or its Cobra equivalent were nowhere to be found. I ended up using the Cobra 2221/8 1860kv spinning a 7x5 prop. Using a 5000mAH 40c lipo. And I made a spelling error before as it does 160km/hr or 100miles/hr, and NOT a 106km/hr.
My bad... corrected in the original post.

Ahhh... That makes a lot more sense! Yeah, you'd have to get the SS motor from Ritewing - Cobra isn't doing so well and they lost their warehouse or something. Don't know their current status or future, but I know cobra motors have been hard to come by.

I was extremely lucky to get my Cobra motor when I did. Been ordering the last few motors straight from Chris for the big Drak setups, just none at the time for the Mini Drak.
When I flew the MiniDrak with the lightweight 2800 4s last weekend, was very surprised with the low speed handling of this plane. Wanted to see where the balance point with the Sessions mounted in the nose was affected the most and think I found the aft most location, never again but it never went into a stall or spin. Just kept the power up and it lofted out of it, probably about 35mph at the slowest. Bit on the pitch sensitive side and the small lipo pack couldn’t handle more than 5 minutes when I punched the throttle a few times. The 5000 4s is about an optimum pack size, should be able to get some good travel footage this weekend.

I built a 2nd Mini Drak. I went light on this build. Tmotor 2216 900kv. 2 3s 2200's in series, so 6s. 7x6 prop. F405wing FC. Tiny Spedix 35a esc. Crossfire Nano and Tramp 5.8. Pulls a whopping 14a on launch, and 12a going 85mph. Will fly on less than 3a. Very fun to fly, I can hold it pinned for extended periods of time, or just loiter around forever. I typically fly for around 12 minutes, mostly full throttle, and I still have some left in the pack. Packs are cheap, 10 bucks for one 3s 2200, so $20 for a pack. It gets bumped around a bit more than my heavy 5s MD, but is easier to launch, and more fun to fly.

After taking with Chris at RW, he saw the design and liked the idea. However your file was never actually used, it was drawn up at his shop simply based on the visual of yours, but as you can see a total rework of everything, other than the fact that it holds a Sessions style camera. Besides how many knock offs of RW camera mounts or iterations of the same idea do we see today. Does anyone ever say their flying wing is based on the Horton?
Why is the whiskey always gone?
mmh, yesterday evening I crashed my MD into a high tree, but she is a tough one, some damage to the hull which can be repaired. But both the servo arms are snapped. As the servo's are the original Draken D666, which type of servo are should I order as there are serveral types available![]()
