2.4 video , play nice with 2.4 radio?

Im building my first long range setup. Using UHF but am not sold on 1.2 or 2.4 yet. If i go 2.4 video will it play nice with my friends 2.4 radio? Im sure some separation will needed, but is this going to be effecting my range greatly?

Yeah you will need some seperation. I fly 2.4 and 433. Last time some one flew with 2.4 and 5.8 near me I noticed a significant reduction in range standing about 30' away.

I did some range tests a while back and found that so long as you're using a good FHSS receiver on your 2.4GHz gear and so long as you maintain a reasonable separation between the 2.4GHz RC receiver and the 2.4GHz VTX, the range is not unduly affected. However, you will find that a good FHSS RC transmitter tends to stomp on the 2.4GHz video signal at times.

Ill be using UHF, my friends will be on 2.4 with a D4rii most likely. It might be best for me to just run two vtx and swap them out if i fly with them..

Just have your friend be the bartender and gopher if you crash. FWIW spektrum was what a friend was using and stomped on my video at times.
