Who still flies a NON pro version of the discovery

As the title states who still has and regularly flies a Standard non Gimbal discovery

I have a quad here that I am considering harvesting the parts from to build another Discovery just for fpv as they fly so well for this purpose

I currently have a Qav 520 V2 with a gimbal and a 400 with gimbal but I sadly miss my old Disco and I have a new in box frame here

Are they still considered a cool toy or have we all become gimbal snobs

I fly my original disco almost everyday. 10" props on 4s with a naza v2 and the original plain ole gopro elastic banded on the front running plain ole 720 at 60fps. luv it. still the coolest lookin quad out there. my opinion

Well If you asked me what my main quad is I would say yes. but its in pieces after a failed attempt to swap out the naza for a vector. current political climate has moved my activities twards fixed wing long range out in the desert. Flying a quad where I live is more hated then walking around with a loaded rifle.

I still fly one of my disco's, don't have the time to fly it everyday but I use it as my workhorse testbed for new tx's,rx's and fc's... I guess it's just my go-to quad for trying new stuff.

I still have one that I fly with only the FPV camera and no GoPro. It's my tree top prop smasher antenna trasher!

I fly the Pro, but some of my flying buddies added gimbals to their standard Discos. And it's not just some cumbersome gimbal hanging below the quad - they managed to integrate the gimbal into the frame much like the Pro. Some are even doing this to clones.

Love my old Disco, The Pro is really nice, but if you just want to wing it around or Test something out it's the Kiddy, Just waiting on some bits to arrive to use it as a test-bed for "wifibroadcast" HD downlink system, the Disco is pretty versatile in this respect.
