Question Vortex just beeps. New and out of box.

    Can anyone help?

I've purchased a vortex brand new, and out of the box it just beeps with around 1sec intervals.

First thing i did was install the D4R-II properly, and the spironet antenna. Then i powered it up. The D4R-II bonded successfully to my Taranis, but that's all that seems to be working.

The live feed doesn't seem to show up on any frequency in my 32Ch skyzone 3D (Or my girlfriend's fatshark preds) goggles and doesn't seem to change frequency. (goggles are tested and working on many other race quads).
In fact the button on the back seems to just change the colour of the LEDs, and nothing more. Long presses seem to have no effect, and don't alter the consistent beeping.
I can't seem to arm the machine either.

Read the manual back to front, cant seem to find anything there.
Googled the problem, and it seems to be similar to this guys issue: .
Only mine hasn't been crashed. Or flown. Or armed. Or accessed through the wizard...
Connecting it to cleanflight via USB doesn't seem to work either. It doesn't seem to be able to find it. Not an issue with drivers, i use cleanflight on my other racers, with the same laptop and cable.

Did i get a dud? What do i do?

So it just beeps... nothing else? no leds on the back or inside the quad?

edit: just reread your post... apparently it does more than beep, so the leds on the back do work.... how about the other leds?

There's other LEDs? All i can see working are the RGB ones at the back.

Edit: peered inside at the circuit board, doesn't seem to be any LEDs in here on either.

Yes, should be a few leds just about under where the battery straps are... blue, red, green

sounds like maybe you have a loose plug or something maybe not giving power to the main board???

If you look into the quad on the back left side you should see a short cable with red wires connecting the upper main board and the lower power distribution board... does it look like it is plugged in all the way?

Fixed the issue. It was one loose wire from the FC to the PDB. >< a bit frustrating, but works well now.

Great to hear you got it running!!!

The question about the batt was an afterthought... just in case sometimes it is the simple things which give the most trouble.
