Vortex hardware.. on the low perf side ?

hi, thinking of buying this amazing looking (and light) Vortex but I have some questions..

I currently fly a emax250 with 2204-2300kv motors and 12A esc's, I see many in my case going the slightly higher rating ESC's such as 18Amps.
    (see this test, DYS1806, HQ 5030 Prop on 4S, 11.5A @ 100%, so If I put a 5045 I will definitely go past 12amps)

Also the version 2 commes with Lumenier FKC-1806 motors, on the lumenier website these are rated 2-3s, yet the Vortex is advertised as 3-4s..

So the Vortex having 1806 motors and 12amps esc's ? Am I gonna be at the end of the queue ? Am I going to smoke something by going 4s ?

And please understand I am not trying to underestimate the product or anything, there is lots of performance tests by many people online and it's just a bit confusing to choose..

Is there any plans to have 18amps ESC's fitting in the arms ?

4S is fine on those motors... the specs are extremely conservative.

The 12A ESCs are fine in that configuration and beyond, in fact it's the motors that struggle when propping up to 5x4.5 on 4S - the ESCs are fine with it.

so If I changed the motors to 2204 so I can turn 5045 on 4s would the esc's still be ok ?

2204-1960kv yes... plenty of guys running 4S with cobra 2204-1960v on 5x4.5 and loving it.

the higher kv version with that prop will stress the escs beyond their design envelope.

I just blew a lumenier 2204 2350kv motor this weekend doing suicide sprints back and forth between 2 flags on 4s. 12a esc's on board. The motor windings burnt.

2204 isn't a magic number. it's the build of the 2204 motor that is important. The cobra 2204/32 1960kv motors can handle this. The cobra 2204/28 2300kv motors won't.
