I have the 900tvl on my Vortex. they are not plug and play really.

you'll have to do some cable chopping and some modding of the plastic ring that holds the camera since the hole doesn't fit it.

No cable chopping or ring modification is necessary.
Simply remove the 3 pin JST connector from the vortex cable by lifting up the small plastic tabs with a knife. Then remove the 4 pin JST connector from the 900TVL cable the same way. Then put that connector on the Vortex cable, carefully checking the pinout. Done! Unscrew the lens, guide it through the hole while screwing it again. Adjust the focus, ready! Simple 5 minute job.

    I didn't know that, wish i did.

But what you say about unscrewing the lens is not true, you do have to cut the red plastic ring on the vortex so it can have a larger diameter.

No modification was necessary on the red plastic ring when I installed the 900TVL camera.

Hey guys, hopefully not a stupid question but I am looking on the Ready Made RC site and the FS 900TVL is in stock but in PAL format only but not in NTSC. Any reason I couldn't or shouldn't use the PAL format? I am using a Immersion 5.8 600mW Tx.

    Thanks, Dennis

The PAL version of the camera will work fine with the Immersion RC 5.8GHz 600mw Tx but consider the following input from OscarLiang.net:

The main difference is that PAL offers better resolution, while NTSC allows more frame rate. So if you want to have good picture, PAL is good. But if you want more fluid footage, NTSC does a better job.

    • PAL: 720 x 576 @ 25fps
    • NTSC: 720 x 480 @ 30fps
