Aluminium arms v DJI f450 arms (TBS Disco Pro)

    Hi,

Anyone have thoughts on these aftermarket aluminium arms as a replacement for DJI f450 plastic arms on Disco Pro?
    http://www.ebay.com/itm/251886811607...%3AMEBIDX%3AIT
    vs. http://team-blacksheep.com/products/prod:f450_arms

(Looks like for the Disco I would need spacers as well as legs, could be a downside)

Just wondering if added stiffness could improve flying?
My main goal is stable video/photography footage
    without jello.

Notice these are also 5cm longer.

Currently been using the 900kv v2 motors (10" props), thinking of upgrading to the 1000kv version (9" props).

    Appreciate your thoughts.

I recall someone mentioning for these not to fit on the front left ( they're wider so the RF Shield on the bottom plate gets in the way ) and rear right ( the power cable cannot be passed under the beam connecting the two bottom screw areas ) mounting points without modifications.

For Better performance, Ditch the 10" props & go with 9" Graupners or HQ E-props, Don't bother with the Ally arms as they transmit more vibes back to the frame than the DJI ones do, TBS JelloGuard works well too.

An argument that's also very often used here against aluminium arms is that if you crash you want something to break, not bend and transfer force to the expensive parts. Thus I'd stick with the plastic arms.

I have never broken an arm on ANY quad despite having my fair share of "high speed landings" including one where my mini killed motors at 30' up in m concrete driveway and it landed on the end of one arm. for anyone breaking arms I cant imagine what happens. Ran over by cement mixer?

I've never broken an arm on a mini, but have on larger quads, more weight, and force on impact.
