I have another batch of the monopoles going up for sale, 3 pairs ready now and 5 more by the weekend.

I've not had or heard of much luck with the stock antenna's, there's been two guys that I sent free antenna's to that had their issue clear up as soon as they put new one's on.

As for range on monopoles 4 miles securely, at 5 your RSSI starts to drop off severely. 6 would be considered maximum and only if you are running a diversity. Use a dipole for LR

How long are your antennas overall? Measured from the bottom of the connector all the way to the tip of the element?

I measure from the end of the brass connector to the end of wire, 164mm, if you add the connector you'll be about 179 or so.

Simply measure the wire outside of the connector, should be 164mm

Just made a pair of these, yet to test them.
I made them from a 0.8mm steel pushrod wire, and a corresponding pushrod tube (1.8-2mm OD). My sma is similar to the stock antennas - has a 2mm hole, so its a perfect fit. Does this change things in terms of recommended length?

    My question:
-Im not sure why would would it be necessary to make them from a isolated wire, and then put them inside a another 3mm pushrod tube?
-Why not make them steel pushrod ONLY, and just put on a piece of 10-15mm of tube to isolate the inside the connector? Drag would be at minimum.
