    Hey all,

Sorry for my lack of input - been a bit crazy here of late.

The camera holder is in fact one of Dans. And we are looking trying to rework it a little as the screws do get in the way.

A couple of notes on the TBS Gimbal...

Never take note of what it's doing on the bench with the motors off. What is more important is what it does in the air. The second profile will kick in once you spin the motors up and get going. That said, we always get our gimbals working perfectly on the bench, then at least we know they will work in the air.

One thing that drives people nuts is they fail to see that the gimbal has rotated on the pitch axis too many times and now the cabling is getting tight. This is the cause of much grief! So make sure the cables are not over twisted.

So Warg have you got this sorted or should I go around and slap Mongrel for you? ;-P

Which reminds me John, are you coming out for a fly tomorrow and have you tried a Vector in a quad yet?

    Hi Pete,

Can't tomorrow! But I will get there soon.

I have a Vector on a Disco, just not had the time to play with it too much. I should get it down and give it some more attention.

Last time I flew it, it needed some serious calibration as the off set arms were not playing nice. It flew, but it was a little ugly.

    Thanks John.

Looking forward to what you guys come up with for Dans holder. Ive just drilled mine out a little for the moment. I quickly picked up on the over rotated cable problem. I could feel the difference in the gimbal after I sorted it out. I think I have the problem fixed, a little more flight time will see if it shows up again. Backyard tests indicate that bumping up the pitch power has solved the problem so far...

Yes she is a good looking bird I get a bit teary when I have to box her up for the night.

Loving this 10 inch diversity monitor BTW. I made a little flexible connector out of a gps lead (already had one of the connectors attached) and a flexihead lamp base. Not sure if there is a negative effect with the short bit of co-ax + extra connectors Ive added to the helical? Makes it real easy to position however.

PS, do you want me to send these duckie aerials back? I was under the impression these didnt come with the screen, i.e. Emmas bad. Have the CP and Helical now so I dont think I need them?

    Cheers

    Looking good dude!!

The 10 inch screens come with antennas, so they are yours to keep. Use the for whatever you feel. Chopsticks maybe??

    Cheers John.

Pad Thai tonight with aerial chopsticks it is

Ok so I just ran some more tests @ hover. It seems to me that the jello guard is associated with the problem. I have upped the pitch to 175 (equal to roll) and I still have the problem.

The repeated oscillation will continue until the gimbal is leveled.

But if I remove the jello guard. Gone. Full range of gimbal movement. Dunno whats next
