    L-com 2.4 RHCP patch antenna

    Hello L-Com

    Can you (or anybode else) give me the exact distance between the front and backplate of the 2.4gh 8dbi RHCP antenna? Using frequency = 2370mhz and/or 2510mhz

    The distance over the backplate on this particular CP patch changes the gain and sidelobes more than anything. Closer to the reflector will lower the gain, but also lower the sidelobe size. Farther away will increase the gain, but the main beam will be narrower and it will have larger sidelobes. Of course this is only true in a narrow range of heights over the reflector.

    In general, the height that it is initially set (I believe it is 1.1cm) seems to be a good balance.

    Thank you Alex,

    Can I be sure of the 11 millimeters you are telling? Then I can look for the correct spacers and wrap the whole thing up in shrink tube.
    I would like to use it directly on a short stiff sma cable to my dominator v2 2.4 nexwave module.
    Oh and while where at it, plus and minus is internally connected on the bottom print board. That is normale I gues?

    The L-Com has a higher spacing from some reason. It is a bottom feed. The impedance is different from the RC-CAM patch. 11mm is the proper height.
