What happens to a Naze32 if you "accidentally" reverse battery polarity?

    Hey everyone!
I was trying to tidy up one of my acro quads (MXP220) and accidentally connected the lipo to the XT60 with the leads reversed. For a split second or so. Saw the magic smoke. I think it came out of the mini PDB board (i need to order a few more of them). So now it appears that the VBAT pins on the Naze32 are no more.
Can't get the battery telemetry through it anymore. Everything else appears to be fine.
Has anyone done this in the past (i hope i'm not the only one to ever do that ).

    put it in the bin.

capacitors and voltage regulators could have been damaged (and 99% are).

Are you referring to the Naze or the PDB?

You are not alone, although I don't know what I did. Mine is near new and I flew it this morning. I had the quad on my bench to check telemetry, plugged the battery in and no lights. Rx and ESCs beep but Naze appears to be dead. No smoke, no bad signs on the board, nothing. Just ordered a new FunFly. Bit of a mystery.

As you may or may not know, all electronic equipment runs off of smoke. They put it in the device components during manufacturing. If you do anything bad to it and the smoke comes out, you have a dead part, because once you let the smoke out you can't put it back in.

(yes this is an attempt at humor)

I think they forgot to put smoke in mine. It must be a faulty unit.......

And every April 1, someone releases a new product that is merely a syringe filled with "magic smoke" that can be used to repair those devices by re-injecting the missing smoke.

I always miss the sale, you would think they would do it more than just that one day a year, the same shop sells those board-stretchers too for when u cut your lumber too short and need to stretch it back

Oh yeah, April 1st sale. We always get some poor guy to look online for a special on the "SWR grease" for the PL259 connectors. You know, to keep the SWR low on the radios...
