Multiple Mini Quads - Compatibility Help Needed

    Hi guys,

Me and other 4 friends are getting 5 Blackout mini H quads to fpv race.

We have the build we have quite clear which motors and esc's to use...

I have already a Immersion Vtx 600mw 5.8 with the V2 Dom goggles and the 5.8 module.

Now... If we want 5 of these same systems, will they create a problem while flying, or video signals mixing up? How do you control this so that everyone can have a safe video channel to fly under the same 5.8 band.

    Other options? opinions?

any help will be much appreciated in advance guys.

    thks again,

    NIK

Well for starters drop the power to 100mW or less, 25mW would be better, then have every other channel on opposite polarisation, even then 5 is a big ask, may be better to have 2 on 2.4Ghz.

    Hi, thanks for your reply.

What do you mean to drop the power to 100mW, you mean from the Vtx 600mw to 100?

I have 2.4Ghz FPV gear but my buds will probably use 2.4Ghz radio since its a standard for RC now at days. Won't this come into conflict with my video and their RCs?

    thanks again for the help!

    Yeah it would.

We can do four quads on 5.8
Three on boscam 5.8 - channels 1, 4, 7. The fourth on some immersion channel. That's without using LHCP

Three quads on 5.8 immersion, one on boscam (5640 or whatever that super low chan is), one on 1280 and one on 1258.. thats six.

Also I find it really annoying when people use channel numbers because they don;t know the frequency. Causes LOTS of trouble. Peoples rigs crash because of this. Learn the frequency please.

the max you can really get away with on immersion/fatshark channels is 4 if you are using alternating opposite polarized antennas. It also helps to keep the power down too. 200mw is pretty good. For your fifth guy, you might need to use another frequency bank like boscam, or another band altogether.

That's true. With the boscams i'm referring to these channels - band E/FR3

It's also useful to have the pilots a fair distance away from the course if at all possible.

You should be able to have 8 pilots flying at the same time on 5.8...
Use the following channels (spaced about 35mhZ or greater apart).
    5645
    5685
    5725
    5760
    5800
    5840
    5880
    5925
When nothing else out there will suit your needs... design and build it yourself.

Thanks guys that is really good info.

Would 2 Boscam Vtx and 2 Immersion Vtx with all 4 fatshark glasses and 5.8 fatshark modules in different bands be more secure and have no compatibility problems?

I have one more question. For racing between us in lets say in a 200 meter radius between trees and couple of obstacles... Will the obstacles and distance be a concern in regards to the video signal fading away from time to time?
Do you recommend we all get our 5.8 Ground stations instead?

Thanks again for the feedback guys, this has been very helpful.
