This is my first test of the SurveilZone CC1564 Nightcam. I am very impressed with how well it handles low light! Especially as I had it set to colour mode. It should do even better in B/W mode (which I'll test in the next week or two).
Testing was done with the 4mm IR sensitive lens included with the cam. Because the camera sensor is 1/2", the 4mm lens FOV is similar to the FOV of a 2.8mm lens on a regular 1/3" sensor. There is also a 4mm IR blocked lens included, which you can use for daytime flying I suppose.
Flight was done at 9pm on an overcast night, with no moon visible.

As a comparison, here's a flight I did at the same location, same time, with a clear sky, using the CC1333 with F1.2 4mm low light lens:

Here's another sample with the CC1333, using regular lens:

The difference is obvious. The CC1564 is a nightcam winner! I'll be testing one on my SkyHunter soon.

It's minimOSD flashed with MWOSD firmware, used together with Afromini32 FC.

Hey maximus is that with stock settings? I just plugged mine in and had a look outside and even though its bright the noise/pixels/ghosting is terrible

I think I tweaked the settings a bit. If there was DNR (can't remember) then I would have made that zero. I'll check my settings and post them later. I'm hopefully doing night flight on the beach tonight with B/W mode. Yay!

Any updates on settings, maximus? I tried to run mine as sensitive as I could on B&W and it was... uh... bright but very noisy. I actually wonder if sticking to colour mode may be better for proximity work, the noise is hard to work around.

Hi guys, sorry I haven't posted updated settings yet. I forgot about this and haven't had time to test other settings yet. I'll see when I can play with the settings. Also keep an eye on Bruce's (RCModelReviews) video feed for his take on the settings.

Edit: Bruce is reviewing the Effio-V, not this cam. Ignore last comment.
