It was a tough decision - but only way to be able to add new OSD features.

I should also have added - not just new features - but also to keep existing items working that are taking more resources.

Even simple items such as distance / altitude / speed means need to increase memory to cope with larger values. Often doubling the requirements.
Years ago there were limits such as 99 kmh which seemed more than enough. Now have users pushing over 1000 kmh.
Similarly 1k distance was max on OSD at one point (only used for multirotors).... upped to 10k, then 32k. Now it seems 100k is not enough.
Now with huge increase in APM users we are seeing it used in all sorts of weird and wonderful applications - submarines / rockets.

You would honestly be amazed at some of the applications. I wish I could share videos but lets just say its not just used for hobby or commercial,,,

If you reflash latest 1.8.1 it should resolve the swapped screen bugs too!

    Thanks for the feedback!!
I also use with iNAV. both MWOSD and embedded. Embedded is catching up slowly but still not quite there for me.There are a lot of subtle items in MWOSD that I miss too much.
reflashed to 1.8.1 and its all sorted. Even hdop is working now.

    Thanks for your help!!

i fly my mini with pitch angle displayed in the screen and noticed while flying, before in R1.7 i had positive angle values, while now after start using R1.8 i get negative values
what's the easiest way to have this back to normal?

    Thanks

Hi Fernando! this one keeps haunting me...

    Pitch value:
There is no right or wrong way. Some are positive forward, other negative.Same as roll or yaw.
I changed recently because pitch up = positive is the more prevelant - and the reference on wikipedia.
I also prefer your way, but it is not the most popular which is what I have to support.

There is a setting in config.h for custom installs with arduino:
#define INVERT_PITCH_SIGN // Invert the sign of the displayed numeric value for the pitch angle (ex: pitch up = positive )

    Dear shikra,

I tested the new GUI 1.8.1 and it works great with the new MWOSD Firmware!
You did a lot of improvement! Thank you very much!

On think I would like to know:
When I use the GUI to flash the new firmware (great feature) and I choose the gpsosd with the ublox, the flashed firmware is for multirotor models!
I would like to use it in a fixed wing!

Is it important for the gps only osd?

Can I change the model type without recompile it firmware using arduino?

Is it possible to flash a Fixed Wing GPS OSD firmware using the GUI?

    Thanks for your help
    Alex

I ended up flashing with arduino from the master bits and the option to keep the positive pith numbers (when pitch down) didn't really needed to be uncommented, which is as before, but oposite to the current default option if flashing with the GUI

    Thanks
    Fernando

Cool. I wish I had enough memory to make all these items available via the GUI.
