I ordered and received 2 HS1177 cameras, plastic case 5-22 volts it is advertised as, the box and the camera say 5-15 volts, I have not put 4 cell to it yet only 12volts with a Pololu, Can I safely run 4 cell 17 volts max????? If not I need to exchange these as i was sold the wide voltage versions. Orders #41411 and #41280

    Thanks

Below are some RF Explorer snapshots of the HS1177 v1 and v2 cameras at distances 5cm, 10cm, 20cm from a fully extended antenna. Included is a baseline snapshot too.

So, the v2 camera outputs less UHF noise over all, but does have a narrow spike at 439.795Mhz. This shouldn't be a problem with frequency hopping systems, especially if you can configure the hopping frequencies hop around the spike.

Thanks for the testing result. Really helpful.

Is there a easy way to tell whether you have the v1 or v2 cam? SurveilZone, I ordered a HS1178 on january 12 2015, which version did I get?

The back plate should have "5-20V", the old version had a blue PCB board while new version is green. I'm also testing one on a small quad, I really like the video clarity and small footprint, the OSD control is convenient with just one button. So far I'm liking this camera and will very likely order more for other projects, mainly because the small size and performance.

The old version has the cable out at the bottom, the new version has the cable out at the top, besides, old version has cable sequence: white red black yellow, new version has cable sequence: white yellow black red, you can check the power cable or servo cable along with the camera
