Monkey, when did you move to WA? We are going to have to meet up and fly soon if you are this close!

Todays progress has been slow. I laid down some paint and just wasn't happy with it, so sanded it down and broke out the vinyl I bought months ago. This is the first plane I have ever tried to do with sign vinyl so it is a learning process, however I am loving the look so far.

I haven't been this excited about a new airframe ever. I even started clearing my build table last night so that I'm ready to go.

I just noticed all the new pictures on page 1... Arghhh. The wait is agonizing. I got all my electronics ready to go. Blades sharpened and glues primed. LOL.

Great build so far Dale. I like the red.

Not a lot of progress yesterday, work took up most of my time however I was able to finish vinyl on the wings and install the servos. I also figured out how I will place my DL antenna to allow the wings to be removed.

Laminate hinges on top and bottom of elevon before vinyl goes on:

    Now the white goes down:

Dragonlink installed and long antenna run down the wing:

This shows that I will be able to separate the wings without disconnecting any wires:

Installation of servos and bottom of wing. By the time I got to the last wing I was getting a better understanding of how to work with vinyl.

Yesterday I feel like I worked a lot on the Z3, but don't have a lot to show for it. The vinyl is so time consuming, especially on complex curves and edges. Anyway, I worked on lamination of the wings and then worked on the fuse. I installed the hatch covers that I cut from clear plastic and glued them into place. I will then cover them with the vinyl and lam and them cut them out and hinge them. Here are some pics of the progress:

    Here is the cg drawing.
And for your controll surfaces you need to shape them like this for best flight performance. We taper the bottom side , and do a nice inboard taper to the tip to make for cleaner flight characteristics.
