I posted my wanna-be-azjeg groundstation case I built, inspired by your pelican 1300-based design, a few pages back and have since been really enjoying having something available in that form factor.

    Keep up the good work!!
Thanks, I saw your project and it looks great. The materials and the technology we use is not as important as getting the most out of a practical shape or solution. Ergonomics are the key to any useful field gear. Believe me, I've seen enough million dollar sets that actually failed every field test, simply because the developers hardly ever left their cozy labs. If I ever wanted to show off anything, it is the feasibility of a creative teardown process, which is essentially the agressive disassembly and rebuild of every piece of commercial off-the-shelf device that doesn't really work for us in its original form. There is really nothing more to it than that.

heres my latest... I decided to take my 9" screen a few steps further and add a few things inside the already crowded case

    What I added:
    910-1300mhz RX
    5.8ghz TX (airwave)
    Flytron video splitter
    Hobbyking 3s low voltage alarm
    Hobbyking Voltage display
    Tripod mount
    Switch for 5.8ghz (on/off)
    Voltage regulator for airwave module...

And once I find a super slim DVR thats going in there too!

Thanks. This is more of an inspirational presentation. I don't particularly regard this place as a marketing outreach in any way, especially because the people hanging out here can make their own stuff, and they don't really need us to supply their gear.

We don't do government contracts directly for a reason, and I'd rather stay away from most of these countries in general, anyway, but they are not even in the same ballpark. NK is simply a bunch of freaks, but only the combination of the rest is problematic, from what I've heard. ;-)

You can't complain Brett, I've sent you the CAD model images very early on. :-) Wait till you see the next one... Also, your mega-immersion station is nothing short of this feat.

Thanks for all your kind compliments guys. BTW, many enquired in PMs about the original Peli case and how it was converted. It is the 1430 top loader case with the handle cut off. The load bearing pins on the sides are still there to put a shoulder strap and/or a short handle on it. Also, as this case was originally inteded for boat applications, the bracket mounting points can also be used for a backpack mount. There is an insane amount of space in both the body and the lid, even after we throw in everything.

    The first green GS

Okay, I know what your thinking, "yeah yeah yeah, it's just a combination RMRC and Immersion RC tracking station, big deal". What you need to understand it's an environmentally friendly construction with using Frank Lloyd Wright architecture. The wood was recovered scrap from the garage reducing local landfill impact and the color is a charcoal based homemade based paint made from grill embers. The DVR and battery compartment doubles as a bird feeder in my off season. This allows for a bird sanctuary where many species can review and enjoy my flights in a sound surround home theater system from the DVR. Birds are asked to relieve themselves outside the facility.
