Azjeg, Is that a Pelican 1430?
Yep, with the handle cut off and replaced with a much thinner rubber covered spring steel slip back type one. This way it still sits very comfortably on a desk. We've also added some non-slip rubber feet under the tray to make room for it. You can of course supersize this set with the Pelican Storm iM2435, which already has a recessed handle, but as I couldn't fit much bigger screens into that one either, I declined...
I posted this video over in my build thread but thought it would fit here as well. It is a Walk around video of the ''New, Improved, and upgraded'' Cockpit Ground Station (CGS).
Enjoy!!

Thanks bud.......Funny, I was wondering what I was going to do with that compartment in the front. It is actually built there to hold the upper portion upright when it is clam shelled open to facilitate maintenance or getting larger pilots in and out. I sat straight up one night with the idea of using that compartment as a cooling plenum chamber/humidifier for the box. All I have to do is insulate, line with a plastic to keep the ice from melting from any other source than the cabin air that will be circulated through it with a 12v fan. It is getting to be that time of year to need cooling. The whole box will soon be insulated with acoustic egg crate black foam. I think it being such a small space it should work great!!

As long as you only need to cool just a few cubic feet of closed space, it should be enough, although condensation could be an issue. If you use closed cell foam boards glued together to form a waterproof box, you may as well save some time and materials. Also, as I've found, ice in your neck of the woods is pretty much complimentary everywhere you go. Unlike in Europe, in the US you just stop by a gas station or a motel, and you just ransack their ice machine... :-)
