No no no no! It's a drone strike when a toy DOESN'T crash into a building. Read the article (I mean sensationalistic media fictional article made to spread misinformation fear and general bull shittery.)

haha.. I spared myself of the meat of it after reading the headline.

Headlines are supposed to capture the attention of the reader and encourage them to read on... this one had the opposite effect on me.

Space Needle Still Standing After Reported Drone Strike
You've gotta be kidding, "Still Standing"?

Police found no signs of damage to the top of the Space Needle.

He then showed officers video he’d captured during the drone’s flight, which showed it hovering over the Space Needle’s observation deck as tourists waved. Nothing on the video indicated the drone had hit the Needle.
This is how media makes something out of nothing. Drone strike nearly took down the tower! err, we meant drone flew by the tower and people happily waved to it.

That space needle has survived 6.x earthquakes, what a moron (Whoever wrote the story and the guy for flying it.) And Seattle PD for not knowing city ordinance.
It's been done so many times it's hilarious..........

"Witnesses then saw the drone—described as a white, quad-propeller unmanned aerial vehicle, equipped with a camera—glide to a hotel two blocks east of the Needle, where it landed inside a fifth floor room."

I have a lot of experience with Phantoms and trust me they will glide, straight down like a dropped rock.

I think my third response to the FAA proposed ruling will be one that provides a clear distinction between hobbyist pilots and these folks who buy RTF "toys".

Pretty much every incident in the news involves them anyway, even if they are mostly a non-event.
