    My new ground station...

I've been lugging two aluminum cases around with all my gear in them for a while now, and while it worked, it was getting tiresome... I've been wanting one large case that could hold everything. h0tr0d told me about some Plano cases on sale at Wal-Mart a few weeks ago, and I stumbled across them at my local store today. Just under $40 and a couple hours time got me this:

    It's a Plano model 108360 "All Weather" 36" Gun Case. Outside dimensions are 40" x 16" x 5.5", while inside is 37" x 13" x 5".

This includes everything I need to fly minus a plane and a tripod. I'll probably add straps to the lid to hold a tripod later.

    • My beloved Futaba 9CAP transmitter
    • Dragon Link UHF module and antenna
    • 72MHz module and antenna
    • 2.4GHz FrSky module and antenna
    • Lawmate 1.2GHz receiver
    • Lawmate 2.4GHz receiver
    • Airwave 2.4GHz receiver
    • 8dbi patch antenna
    • 14dbi patch antenna
    • BlueBeam CP antenna
    • BOSS video splitter/amp
    • FPV-Japan DVR
    • Haier 10" LCD TV w/remote
    • Bundled A/V and power cable for receivers

I've got a bit of room left to spare should I need any more gear in there later too.

Very nice! I think the only thing that would make it even better is if it had foldable collapsible legs on it so you could set it up without needing a table to set it on (or having to set it on the ground).

Hell, it looks big enough that with a bit of gear rearrangement you could fit a tripod inside it, too - And a lot more batteries.
Far better is it to dare mighty things, even though checkered by failure; than to take rank with those who neither enjoy much or suffer much, because they live in the gray twilight that knows not victory nor defeat.

Nice set up. I like the small/flat case. Well done.

Nice! Haven't seen this variation on a longer case for both transport and hosting the GS.

Just FYI I plan on stealing this idea in the very near future as it looks like what I have been wanting in an all in one GS!!!! Bye Bye Pelican Case with not enough space!!

This is also a good case for a small tricopter fpv set up. I think you should be able to fit the tricopter, TX, a small patch, and goggles and possibly a tripod (that may be pushing it though).

Will do I already have a few ideas that may make it a little more functional for my needs.
