    Not my maiden flight. On my way home from Pennsylvania, I saw a housing development. I couldn't resist.

    If it is broken, fix it. if it isn't broken, I'll soon fix that.

    I think you forgot to post the video dude! I saw it in the vid thread though, looked like fun! Was that on 2.4 video?

    This is from the other day, my first flight with goggles! I hacked some Myvu Crystals into some ski goggles.

    @1:24 - That's how you fly a Specter!

    Specter V2 set up

    Alex and VJ,
    I am working on getting one of these bad boys together as a throw up anywhere plane. I have a Hacker A30-12M and hacker 55pro esc that need a home. This motor was originally for my Zephyr I but I went with a Scorpion SII-3020-1110KV on 4cells, which is not easily flown at the park. I was wondering what servos you two are using? I plan on stream lining it with a 480 cam like VJ and trying my hand at the 5.8 cloverleaf. Basically I want to copy VJ's set up but use my hacker motor and esc. Any suggestions would be great. VJ, did you make your own 5.8 cp antennas ? I'm flying a cloverleaf and turbine combo I made for my Zephyr and they work wonders.

    Respectfully posted,
    Inventions C.

    I'm using these servos all around:

    So badass for the price! I got the CL whip antenna from videoaerialsystems.com, the 480 is a sweet camera, I really love it. I haven't even messed with the settings yet either.

    4 cells will really move it, make sure you stiffen the hell out of the wing, maybe glass it. Stiffen the tail as well. Mine gets pretty twitchy in high power dives. I'm using a 2200mah 3S to give you an idea on battery size in the pics.

    Also, I cut off the rudders and pulled out the servo, didn't find they were worth the effort and weight.

    VJ,
    I plan and running 3s on the specter and keeping it light like you did. It'll probably end up a little heavier because the A30-12M is 104grams compared to the 74gram motor your using. What kind of sparing did you use and did you go with double 5mil on the lam? Furthermore, thanks for the link for the servos.

    I'm just using a single 3mm ribbon spar and a single layer of 5mil laminate. It's is still pretty stiff, but twists easy which is the problem with high speed. I will probably relaminate it too. This was the first time I've ever done that and it didn't quite stick in a few spots.

    I was also lookinging at the way the new ZII's are spared using the I beam method and sorta A frame sparing on the bottom. Hopefully Alex will chime in on his sparing and wing stiffness. He mentioned that the Specter will fly better keeping the wing loading down so I'll do everything I can to do that. My zephyr was the first plane I ever used lam on and it came out pretty decent but I used 3M90 to help it stick.
