    Cheap HK 3 channel switch.

When only gopro is plugged in the switch, everything is fine
When only the effio is plugged in the switch, everything is fine
When both are plugged in, gopro image is horrible, effio-v is ok.
Mine did the same thing w/ a cheap hobbyking switch.
I purchased a different video switch, and it works as it should.

Same as you noticed, it was only the effio-v that caused problems w/ the hk switch. Before I got the new switch, I put a resistor in line w/ the effio-v output, and it helped.. To me it seemed like the effio signal was too strong and swamping the other video signals... not sure, but a different switch definitely fixed it.

    I used this one: http://www.getfpv.com/3-ch-rc-video-switch.html

No, that just means the power to the switch itself needs to be 5v, on its RC control side.
Camera voltage is just pass-through, so as long as all your cameras use the same voltage (say 12v) then plug 12v into the camera side, and it'll be fine. Just be sure the RC control side only has 5v.

    Thank you for the reply's

    I have an update:
    - My gopro is dead all of a sudden its stuck ant wont come on again, grrr !
    - When connecting 2 sony super had 600tvl cam it works fine, so just as you mentioned the effio is the problem.
    - i ordered a few different camera's just to try, also a 1200tvl cmos cam just because i am curious.

For now i have tried these switches:
    - http://www.flytron.com/camera-video-...eo-switch.html
    - http://www.ebay.com/itm/5-8G-3-Chann...kAAOSwyQtV5D4d
    - http://www.ebay.com/itm/201488358121...%3AMEBIDX%3AIT

The last one, from a german guy 'Paaaki' , he is very very helpful. But now on holiday so no fix yet.

All of the switchers dont work unfortunately so i ordered this one also:

This one is pretty much the same as the one Wicked mentioned, i am going to give it a try, if it doesnt work i think i'll just give up because its just costing me too much money.
I have a sony effio here 5v 800tvl its the one in the case on the website for 99 usd. I think it is the hs1173.

Will keep you guys updated !
    Thanks for the help

    happy new year guys !

edit: Wicked, can you tell me how much resitance you put on the effio line? and on what wires specific?

    help identify broken component?

An component was broken off on my effio-v. This cannot be solder back on....

Regardless, the camera still works, but what does that component do in the chain?

It looks like a tantalum capacitor, to me..
Most likely it's filtering power supply noise, or something similar.

If you post the markings on it, I can tell you what you need to replace it with.
If it was just smoothing some noise, you might be ok w/out it.. (But w.out schematics I don't know what it's definitely doing)
