Thanks for your reply. Out of range shouldn't be a problem I think, the RTH from the Phantom works really good. Only problem indeed is the voltage monitoring, so the OSD needs to come as quickly as possible.
Already did a short testflight with the Fatshark cam, couldn't wait any longer
First impressions are positive + a whole new world opens before my eyes
Now even more curious about using the GoPro as FPV-cam with the tilt function on the gimbal...

GoPro as flight cam is not good idea. GoPro on gimbal as flight cam is easy recipe to kill your Phantom. Got your ham license yet?

Why is that? A cam is a cam (and the GoPro is even a better cam than the Fatshark)?
No ham license, why would I need one?
Technically it is a workaround allowing you to use non-part 15 compliant FPV and control radios.
Anyhow this is the setup I have, no gimble but it works well.

Krueger - with all due respect, your attitude stinks and you clearly have much to learn. If you think GoPro and gimbal are a great idea for multirotor flight cam - go try it. Otherwise, do yourself a favor and learn a little. At least you've come to the right place.

What's the problem with a GoPro as a flight cam? And because I asked does that give me a attitude that stinks?
And as for a Ham license is anybody really watching or caring if one has one?
