Instead of listing here check out my profile page and you see what I have worked on, incase you woundering.

Dude your in Florida. Would be far cheaper to send it back to RV than to me.

I would, but it seems like anytime you send something to him for repair there's 2+ month wait and no way to get in touch with him....other than thru Alex, R/V is WAY under manned....i.e one man shop, Vova is trying to do everything himself. I love his products, but his customer service is the worst. Maybe some day he'll find a person to handle the shop and then he can work on product devlopment/ repair full time. Looked at the photo's again, the repair doesn't look to bad, I will try and do it myself, just have to find the diode,

    Help,
An unfortunate incident cause some major damage to my DPC-540A camera.

My untrained eye can see 3 damaged components. The 1st pic has a missing component at the upper right and a damaged coil at the bottom. The 2nd pic shows a missing component. I do have a couple of pics of an undamaged DPC-540A.

    Is it salvageable?

That should be repairable. Picture 1 is a variable cap around 5pf (for fine tuning the osc). Coil is from power supply for imager (value is hard to judge. I can guess around 10uh). Picture 2 small cap looks like a .001uf (again supply filtering).

Huh? lol I appreciate the info but it is probably beyond my abilities to locate the parts, replace 'em, tune the variable cap, and troubleshoot it. I see it collecting dust, like a lot of other broken bits I've collected. Could you repair it, cost effectively? I'm in no hurry but would like to use it again. I can probably afford an hour or two of your time + shipping.

Thanks for the time so far.

I can do it. Just depends on where your sending it from. Sometimes shipping cost more than it's worth. Send me a PM with your address so I can see what shipping will be. The parts you need are cheap, $4 at most. If nothing else is broken. I can have it repaired/tested in less than an hour. With video posted of it working.

I have this mini DVR: http://www.jetviewcctv.com/product_i...roducts_id=401

Like a dummy today I plugged in a barrel plug that was negetive center when I needed one that was positive center. Needless to say there was a little popping sound followed by the smell of smoke, is this fixable?
