    800TVL Sony SKU: CC1504/HS1160F, who's using it?

Is anyone else using this one yet?

Sony 1.3 Mega 720P CMOS Sensor 800TVL Camera with 2.8mm Lens

I picked one up to try it out, it arrived a few weeks ago. First impression wasn't that great, but I haven't taken to time to go over all the settings and try to dial it in.

Just wondering if anyone else is flying with it, and wanted to share some settings to make it look good?

It's a CMOS cam and not CCD like most other flight cams. Won't that limit it's dynamic range and low light capabilities?

Probably. They posted a nice looking video example in the facebook group that looked good. The camera I got doesn't look like that did though... This:

The specs say it's an Exmor sensor, similar to the one in the Sony action cams. Those work better than the average CMOS camera in low light, so I thought I'd give it a shot. Here's some info on the sensor: http://www.sony.net/SonyInfo/technol...xmor_r_01.html and another video that claims it's this camera at night:

This is what mine looks like in the sunlight though:

So either the default settings are waaay off, or I got a dud.

    Hi Johan
The 800tvl is a good camera both night fly or daytime fly, but it do not have WDR func, it is also good when facing to the sun directly.

Here's a video of what it's doing. Either it's faulty it just plain sucks.

Setting white balance to "AWB-AI" helps the purple color when facing away from the sun, but then the camera hangs and reboots when it's facing towards the sun. You can see if do that once in the video. I won't be flying this one.
