Heres a a few snaps from some ridge surfing in Waimanalo this morning. So glad the Trades have calmed down for a few, it was perfect:

Great shots Pushjerk! I KNOW what you mean about the trades . . . They can be brutal! Are those shots from your Penguin? I'm still aspiring to build one! I really appreciated you helping me out while I was on Oahu. I've retired now and moved to Jacksonville, FL. If you are ever over this way, ping on me and I will show you some nice flying spots! Hope all is well in Paradise!

    What up Wailer!

Yes, Penguin indeed. That bird has gotte some good flying in, I've just been lazy about posting.

Some more shots here from that flight:

Congrats on Retirement! And of course, retire and move to Florida. I'm sure the flying is a little easier to come by down there than in the Capital.

I'll certainly hit you up if I find myself in Jax. Please do the same if you make a trip back out to the Islands. And I'm glad we could make your vacation flying out here a success - well sorta, as the winds were uncharacteristically relentless for you. I'd like to think any Lab member would do the same.

To this day, when I look back at the footage I got, I'm amazed that I came home with both birds (had a near miss as you can see in the video trailer . . . missed going off the ledge into the water by about 2 feet!). I wouldn't have gotten into the air at all if it hadn't been for you! It was certainly the most challenging flying I've ever done. And to add to the strain, most of it was over water!

Retirement is GOOD! 35 years was enough!

Wailer, I recall watching your video from out here, I thought your Hex was lost over water on the West side (I think) as it came down what looked like right next to the water. Close.
Retirement looks comfortable, by the way.

Mike, I posted some shots of the Marshes and the Flying Field over on the thread I linked above. Check it out.
