    ADS 400Q-X FPV Quadcopter Frame

I've decided(with some help ) to give the extended arms a separate name.

400Q-X has longer arms but remains symmetrical! 465mm allows 9" props out of view, and fits 10" props for a compact Brushless Gimbal setup.

This is currently on its way to being stocked at ReadyMadeRC.com. It uses the same Dirty/Clean/Top plates as the normal 400Q for convenience. Simply buy the extended arms and install them for an instant upgrade.

Very cool, now you know what the next question is ...... what brushless gimbal?

Assume if running 9 or 10" props, the 900 kv motors are preferred?

on 9" props the 1100kv motors still work great. For 10" props you can switch to a 3S 5000 pack, or yes 900kv is suitable.

as for the gimbal, I'm working on that

Will the current ADS 400Q-X be compatible with the gimbal once it is done?

Any ETA on the gimbal? Can the Tarot V2 gimbal fit with mods?
    Cheers

yeah the gimbal will fit. if the tarot doesn't fit, you can actually flip the arms on this frame around to make it look more like the hoverthings Flip FPV in regards to proportions. it won't be symmetrical anymore, but you get a lot more space up front and in back. It shouldn't matter that much for a gimbal flight, I assume you won't be doing any acrobatics with a gimbal on it.

    ADS 400Q-X build

    Hi!

Here are some pictures of my build.
Test fitting the power distribution board and the escs. The XT60 pigtail is too long in this picture I changed that after I took the picture.

This picture illustrates the different styles that are possible in the x version. To get a symmetrical quad the arms have to point forward.

After this I installed the motors with the remaining black screws and the longer standoff are used to install the fc.

As landing gear I cut a pool noodle in half and used double sided sticky tape to fit it on the quad. Works great so far. To mount the flight cam (fatshark pilot cam) I drilled a 3mm hole in a small thin piece of wood and put it below the larger hole in the middle. With a plastic screw/nut I screwed the cam on the quad. To prevent the cam from twisting I put small stripes double sided sticky tape left and right of mounting bracket.

Got mine from RMRC and its done. Just waiting on my Rangelink. I don't think I like Chinese New Year so much EZ3.0 black board,Afro esc's,SunnySky 980kv,HK thin style E-prop. 10" props fit good but with these motors going to stick with 9"

Looks like I got the last one from RMRC

So i'm going to be transferring my power system from my Disco (HATE that frame) that ran 900kv Sunnksky's and 9" HQProps and I'm just hoping this fly's as well as as the short arm version. Gonna pull the Naze32 over as well.

Anyway, just really wanted to sub to this thread. Hoping to get some PID tips from you guys.
