What gimble controller are you using? What impact on flight time? I seem to get about 10-13 minutes so far on 2216 1100kvs w/ a 4s 3700 and 9x5 graupners

Just starting my build with this frame, wanted to post a few pictures. I'll post more as I progress! I'm waiting on a few more bits and pieces to move forward right now.

Originally I was going to use an Eagle Tree Vector on here that I pulled from another frame. (that other frame wasn't that great so I grounded it... lol) But I have this spare Naze, so I might just build it with that instead. Everything I've flown with a Naze flies so well... I've got a KVOSD also to go in if I go that route. I may just save the Vector for another fixed wing project later.

Using a Naze32 Acro on mine, so smooth and little tuning needed.

I highly recommend shortening your servo leads though, neatness counts.

For sure! That's what I'm waiting on right now, some connectors to crimp on after I shorten them.

    Hey Folks,
I liked the spanky so much I bought one it's big brothers too. I'm still undecided on power plant though, my local vendor has Cobra CM2212 1000kv and SS 2216 800kv motors in stock and I've got a set of 20A ESCs here, do either of those sound like a good combo? I couldn't find specs on the Cobra. I'm keen to run a 10in prop and 4s mostly just for the extra efficiency (not an efficiency nut here by any means).

800kv, 10" and 20a on 4S is perfect. The QAV500 with 10" props was "specced" for 740kv. That's a bit docile in my view, but that's the difference between different manufacturers.

Had my first crash with my 400q-x frame today. I have to say it really handled it well. Bobbins were the only thing I lost. Very pleased

My 400Q-x is on it's way, though I have to be completely honest, and I'm sure this has been discussed, that I'm quite disappointed that the 400Q doesn't have a catchy name like the Spanky! Any plans to rectify this?

Just another thought about product names that don't work in other cultures; The Honey Badger, to an Australian sounds like an old and frail Winnie the Pooh bear
