I'm used to having a little interference every now and then depending on environment etc, but this is really bad, sometimes completely cuts out only a few metres away.
I've had a similar problem where I couldn't get more than a few meters away without losing signal almost completely. I later realized that my antenna was mounted directly over my ESC wires within a couple of centimeters. Moved my vtx further from the center of the quad (larger frame), and it cleared right up.

Cool thanks mate, will give that a try too. Makes sense as my VTX is sitting right above the CC3D and esc wires.
Tricky thing is that this frame is so small, there's not a lot of room to shuffle gear around.

    Second FPV flight... ever!

I finally got to fly FPV for the first time ever this morning.
The first flight was without the GoPro H3 on there just so I could get the hang of it...

Winds were at 15-25mph gusts today and during this video. This is why I was in my backyard for a bit of relief, but you can see the trees and surrounding foliage dancing around quite a bit at certain points in the video.

I strapped on my GoPro H3 for the second flight and heres what I got.

Nothing too spectacular... I do go through some trees in my backyard, but nothing too daring for my second time flying FPV....ever.

I fly 3D helis pretty darn good and thought FPV was going to be a breeze.... Boy, was I wrong! First flight I had more problems with keeping/estimating altitude and throttle response than this video!

FPV flight is a whole different monster!

Flight Camera: ReadymadeRC PRO700 700TVL WDR CCD*
Antennas: ImmersionRC 5.8 GHz SpiroNET Antenna Set
    RX: Spektrum AR8000 with Sat*
    Lipo: Lumenier 1300mAh 3s 35c
    - LC Common Mode Power Filter*
    - LMA Lost Model Alarm LMA-A3*

*Items that add more than recommended payload

-- FatShark Dominators with 5.8 Nexwave rx and Spironet antenna for downlink
    -- Spektrum DX8 radio transmitter

Too much fun.. already broke a prop, but I have a box load of them... This thing is pretty tough and extremely addictive! I want to get out to a large lot or field and open her up in rate mode..

One more thing though: Is it me or does the rudder feel a bit spongy on these settings (Tims PIDs)??

juz.... Are your settings a bit snappier or more tamed down? Haven't had a chance to look at them

Let us know what you find out.
sorted my issue thanks Tim. When i soldered the battery lead i did it in such a way that when i screwed the plate up i split the pos on the batt lead and it touched the standoffs which touched the rx , stupid mistake !
