    Good work.

About to order a Jug myself.

Is it possible to run a single 5000 3s?

Or are these packs too long for the bay?

Thanks.. I don't see why not. If its a bit too long, I would think you can dig out some channels on either side of the bay so that it slips in. Although, come to think of it, there is a seam there that may be hard to dig into. How long are your batteries? The battery bay is 5.5 inches (139.7mm) wide.

Screw it, i'll just order one of them IBCrazy 4s boards and copy your build

Would you do anything different if you redone it?

Or you could do dual-battery bays like I did and keep it on 3S. I think having the dual battery bays is very helpful to get the CG right, it allows for longer flight times, and most important to me, it gives you more room in the main bay for electronics/osd, etc.

The only thing I'd do different is be more careful with the precise location of my servos vs battery bays. My servo bays actually open up into my battery bays. It hasn't turned out to be a problem. I mention above the other small changes I've made including solder clevises and tapered elevons.

Yeah, big thanks to you appelm! Your build log was super useful as a guide, especially the elevons. What are your elevon deflections (inches or cm), if you don't mind?

Great to hear this build log is helping people! Would love to see pics of your builds as they come along.

As for my elevon deflections, honestly I have only been able to fly once since I put on the new elevons due to this weird white stuff falling everywhere. And during that flight I realized I needed to make more adjustments which I haven't done yet. When I do, I'll post an update but suffice to say, I do have a fair amount of deflection, perhaps half an inch if I had to guess. During takeoff and landings, I add some downward trim (up elevon) which I remove during flight. Just makes the launches a little easier.

I'll post picks once my camera gets back from Canon (getting the sensor cleaned on my 50D). Half-inch gets me in the ballpark, thanks! I ordered the same elevons as you and beveled the contacting edge just by eyeballing it. I was worried I may have not beveled it enough, but I suppose I did since I get more than 1/2". These are pretty wide, too, and should make for some tight loops.
