Hope to get the Talon out to tinker with RSSI / LQ this week so will take a few pic's
I've got the EZ sending LQ ATM and don't really like it
The issue is when the RX failsafes it continues sending current data, so I have never seen anything less than 100
Think I'll go back to RSSI

    Hello World.

So what's been going on everyone?
Things have been very quiet on the lab. at least on the threads i have subscribed to anyway.

I've mounted a 60w solar panel, controller, two N70 size deep cycle batteries in the van along with a 2000w pure sign wave ups/inverter with a 20amp/240v charger built into it.
It works great and the ups was on special because the new version has a more efficient stand by mode. I dont care if it's a little less efficient as long as it changes over if the generator crashes. only used it off the batteries flying for a couple of flights and the battery voltage only dropped a small amount so i think i could fly for a couple of hours without the honda generator cranked up and will give it a good workout soon.

So someone else must talk now.

And everyone please liven up and talk on your threads so people like me can look on for a while. We sometimes dont think we have anything interesting to talk about but if we all shut up things get a little boring.

SO LETS GET LOUD. VERY LOUD.

I'm building a really big cannon to shoot myself to the moon!!

I broke my mini quad finally, snapped an arm and am waiting on a replacement. I've been spending far too much time fiddling with brushless gimbals on a plane and quad.
Flying FPV a lot too, and having a great time at it. Nothing to make a video of, just enjoying flying with friends.

Matty i cant see any cannon in that photo, Would you like some help with it. But we might have to modify it a little so i can come on the second flight, i am a little heaver than you at 105kg

I am a little jealous of how many guys you have doing fpv over your way because there is only Trev and i here and he works away.

I should just pack up and come over for a couple of weekends i think. What sort of a lounge do you have. include photo.... lol

Really not many people here are FPVing, really it's just me and Steve. Bandit comes along to watch but being a dog he lacks the opposable thumbs essential for RC flying (and he's really more interested in chasing other dogs).
Two other guys kinda go in and out of FPV escapades here, the 'out' parts being spectacularly highlighted by showers of EPO pieces!

I'm considering what I need to do to get a mini quad racing team up and running, possibly building RTF quads, lending out my old googles and training people to fly... Would be great to fly with you but I live in a 'studio apartment' barely big enough to fit my bed and my planes!

Still here Mick, been revising the rooftop launcher and hope to have some more video when the weather is a little more agreeable. Just got one heck of a deal on a brushless gimbal to remove the huge servo controlled gimbal with the gopro to further lighten up the new quad, have to find ways to maximize flight time when I use it in the cockpit. Still have it in the works to purchase a mini quad through Leftcoast since being floored getting to see how it handled in the pilots seat, quad on steroids.

Nice upgrades on the ground station, a 2000 watt inverter would be a hit especially with the second battery and solar cells. Should give you a decent operating time.

Photo shoot this morning with the talon seeing it may have not have existed this evening
Had just updated the APM firmware, retrimmed, ran a radio cal, reset gyro's and accel's, generally farted about.
All because of an unanticipated arrival last outing, lost the b@rstard in the grass 300 metres out.

Old mate and I decided to go play in the clouds today, non event, he speared in on launch, I ran out of motive power shortly after, seems I have a dicky ESC???
Same problem as last outing, no stay up in air!
Will post the pic's when phone fed, next visit

I am too caught up in gimbal fettish, just assembled a Tarot Ironman 650 chassis waiting on props, motors, ESC's an gimbal from RMRC an some bits from Hobbyking Aus
All the BOSS's fault, she shouldn't have bought me a GoPro Very impressed with the fit and finish of the Tarot quad, impeccable!
Already optioning up with retracts from China, heh heh.

Of to BrisVegas for Easter so no playing for a while....

Hey Mick, you planning a flight to outer orbit or what?

    Cheers
    Ross
