Lightbulb Need a piece of advice on Dianmu OSD

Hello, i want to use a separate batery for video tx on my dianmu. Seems my vtx needs more than 9.something volts that the OSD provides. The vtx channel led wont even light up with the suplied voltage the osd gives.

Anyone here use one separate pack for video? how did you wire that up?

    Thanks!!

The osd is suppose to put out 5v or 12v depending on how you wire it.

Dianmu will only give you 12v out if you are using a 4s (or higher) battery system. a 3s battery will only output a bit over 9v.

What I did was to tap12v directly off my 3s flight battery balance tap to power the cam/vtx, so i am still using a single battery. I am not using the dianmu's 5v/12v power.

sure thing. You'll want to use a LC filter on the balance tap power for your cam/vtx, otherwise you'll likely get unwanted ESC interference in your video.

What if i want to use a separate pack for it (the video)? do i have to join the negative poles of both batteries?

Yes, you'll need to tie the grounds together - otherwise the OSD will have no ground reference for the video signal from the camera.
