    wasn't quite clear

is the compliance dependent on using this product strictly with their craft?

Sucks that you have to be tethered to the ground as well. The price isn't too bad if you can do video for hire legally.I would seriously consider if it wasn't a tether system and the multis I wanted to use were on the good list.
Most of the money I made this year I spent on FPV,the rest I just wasted.

I like your intent, but you are basically giving-in to the whole FAA-controls-everything koolaid. Reading the details of Trappy's lawsuit, I no longer think that it was "illegal" in the first place to fly an untethered model aircraft for hire. But the outcome of that case remains to be seen. If Trappy's motion to dismiss fails, then your product will be very popular.

Thanks for your post. We have been working very close with the FAA and really focusing on the Professional Market. The bottom line is that if you use a aircraft "FOR HIRE" and accept money it is illegal. The FAA told us that if we offer this kit and it's used properly that anyone can make money with their multirotor aircraft and they are "COMPLETELY" Legal. Go do bridge inspections, real estate photography, sports events, etc, etc, etc.

Do I have to be the one to ask...

What the hell is the difference between having a free-flying craft and one with a fishing line tied to it?

I'm guessing because you control this one from flying away. It could still drop into a crowd of people, TBO that seems to be the biggest deals with multi-rotor failure. To prevent flyaways has it's merits though.
