Question, I wanted to use these servos http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/s...idProduct=8774 but because of chinese new year I dont want to order from HK and wait a month for the servos. Any recommendations for servos either at my LHS or online here in the US?
I used these servos http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXDTB3 . The guys up at graves assured me these would handle everything I need in the plane.

I may just order those. My LHS has these http://www.amainhobbies.com/product_...r-Servo-S-JR-Z. Think that will do the trick?

I'm sure. I didn't see the amp draw on that one. The futaba wants 2A max.

And how do you guys modify the trailing edge of the winglets and camera skids so they are durable and dont eat dirt?

    Cheers
I use the tbs psu back up battery only if I go long range. To be sure. I would make a bec connector going into the elektronik bay, were you coul connect a 3s 200mah lipo.

    EDIT: I meant 3S 200mah lipo!!!

has anyone added protection to land this thing on pavement? I was thinking about gluing a zip tie onto the bottom of the winglets and the camera bay skids. That way, I can remove the plastic strip and replace them every so often. Any thoughts on this?

And it begins.... got all the spars and motor mount glued in last night. Ordered my servos yesterday so hopefully they will be here by Saturday.
    Going to be running:

    TGY Aerodrive 36-35 (1400kv / 550watts)
    Turnigy Plush 60a ESC
    CC 5a UBEC
    hs-485hb servos
    Dragon Link RX
    1 3s 5000mah lipo

    For video:
    600mw 1.3 RX from RMRC
    Vee antenna
    Urban Drones OSD
    RMRC 480 cam

Going to work on the paint job today. Going to print a design onto weatherproof vinyl with adhesive backing. Stick it on top of the laminate! Sexy time!

Mount the motor on the inside of the motor bracket. Running one 3s 5000 might not have enough weight to the move the COG to the propper place. Which is I believe 3 inches from the Trailing edge of the motor mount.

How much does your motor weight? I have a 126g motor and need a bit of nose ballast to get CG right with 2x4000 4S Gens Ace which is 1KG of battery total.

Why did you chose 2S and not 3S like TBS suggests?
How many engineers does it take to change a light bulb?
    3. One to hold the light bulb and two to turn the ladder.
