Man, I'll tell you how anxious I was to get the power hooked up, but like with most of the electronics I make sure that nothing was making contact with the panel. Wouldn't have been sparks, got plenty of that from the truck yesterday when the hot lead going to the fuel pump got smashed under the cold air intake box and stranded me 1/4 mile from home. This would have been subtle, just a little smoke and no display. The backlighting came on immediately and went right for the warning screen about everything out of position, expected it as none of the controls are plugged in. Had the camera ready and shot about a 5 minute video going through everything in the cockpit and almost done editing to get it uploaded soon. Had no idea you were still up, I was about ready to fall asleep in the seat after soldering wires for a couple hours straight to make sure all was routed where it was supposed to go. Have to pick up up another buss bar as I ran out of them with the mode switches. Still need it for the flaps and the three vernier knobs for the throttle and pitch mixes on heli modes. Should about cover it.

Alright, here is two videos showing before the 9xr is installed showing all its parts, then the other is going through the modes after the main board is installed with the throttle handle joystick controlling the mode selections. Didn't label the first two for parts and wanted to get them organized.

SWEET! Probably the same one sitting in the instrument panel, didn't look that hard to hook up to the unit. Are you hooking it up to the aileron and elevator outputs on the 9xr?

You can be my wingman anytime! Just wondering if a Zephyr would keep up with the Diamond Dust. I'd probably have to look at getting something a little slower if you want to try formation.

Not the outputs of the 9xr.......the instruments will be a completely different system except for the dual pole pots. One side of the pot will be for the 9xr and the other set of poles will be for a set of servo testers (one for each channel) for now untill I can find some help unlocking the OSD magic and converting it to a ppm signal to run each servo. I was thinking of contacting some manufactures to see if it could be done but I am afraid of the cost......lol.

What is a diamond dust and where can I get one? just how fast is it? The ZII can kick some ass when it is opened up.......!

I stopped flying it a long while ago due to wearing out the OS40 vrp f1 motor. Brought it back to life with the Zephyr motor package and what I used for my avatar. The delta wing is capable of well over 200 with the right motor setup. Gapp stopped selling the kits a way back but I still have the plans. It only takes a couple days to put one together. Stocked this one up with my Ezosd and the 2.3 vtx, just being cautious for the last two flights to turn down the rates to where I'm comfortable flying it again. Run a google image search... Just finished up the wiring for the aileron and elevator joystick with the trims and worked perfectly after running through the calibration. Working better than I could have imagined. Just have to ensure that when soldering the potentiometers in, make sure they are the same as the ones off the 9xr. The hat switch will make trimming the plane out much simpler, no fumbling around for the trim lever when you really need it.

Since the dual rate switches are already mounted and wired into the buss, should get to them next.

Almost the end of another long midnight work shift after 10 days straight in good ol' El Centro. Really anxious to get back to work on the trailer. In the meantime, getting planes fixed up and working to use with the other 9xr so it'll be set up when plugged into the trailer with not a whole lot of surprises. Can start heading back home on the 7th.

I did think of a few ways to get control of the instruments from the radio, not so much the telemetry from the plane itself until certain issues are worked out with ppm signals and how to separate them to make the artificial horizon work as in Brett's cockpit.

Hope you don't have to wait for the first flight too much longer Mick, it's a long time coming don't want you to miss it.
