SkyTrek: 3D printed, foldable, silent, fly-everywhere FPV plane

Two years ago, when doing some trekking in my beloved Pyrenees, I thought about how wonderful would be flying FPV from some of the places I was visiting (one full walking day far from the vehicles), and started to think about some easy to transport FPV plane.

One year ago, I brought my small (1m) Xtreme wing to the Pyrenees. Even if not small enough to bring it with me in the backpack for a 3 days trekking, at least it didnít take half of my car trunk. But I wasnít brave enough to fly it. I tried in two different valleys, and the roaring of the propeller resounded in the whole valley.

So, I started to think seriously about an FPV plane that I could transport on the side of my backpack, with a maximum packing size of 20x20x60cm, including transmitter and video gear. It should be as silent as possible, with Gopro onboard recording, and for calm mid altitude flying, just enjoying the scenario.

One year later, and after six months investing a significant amount of time and resources, I am waiting for the third (and hopefully final) version of the 3D printed parts, and I can proudly introduce you the SkyTrek:

Still a long way to go before maiden, but I will keep posting the advances.

    Its a "TRACTOR" prop setup....

    ....and Portable!

    p.s.
It looks like one of those planes built by multiBillionaires who are bored and want
to travel around the world using only Solar Powered energy!

    Sircana,

(dumb question), is that made out of EPO or some other plastic/composite materials?
