FrSky external module for Spektrum build Log

    hello all

Just to share my current project, an FrSky external module for Spektrum.

I am using FrSky DHT DIY module but fitted in an external case so the Spektrum is not modded and still in use with a lot of orange receivers I own.

The aluminum case it is pretty cool, like EzUhf one. You can buy it here.

    So, what you need:

    - aluminium case

    - FrSky DHT 8ch DIY Telemetry Compatible Transmitter Module

    - JR and Spektrum Trainer Cable

    - FrSky D8R-II PLUS 2.4Ghz 8CH Receiver with Telemetery

The idea is to have a 2.4Ghz system for FPV with omni-direcional 5dBi and 8dBi antenna for transmitter and dipole (frsky dipole mod) antennas on the receiver side.

It is pretty easy to make such a box, I am still waiting the D8R receiver and Spektrum trainer plug to test. Some photos:

Thanks!. It really worked and i am amazed on this. On naza assistant the position are more stable and do not drift. Also as failsafe on all channels, really failsafe not spectrum failsafe. Reboot is amazing fast.

Just recommend all users of multi rotors to get rid of spektrum RF. Just not work! period!

At range mode i tried the radio on my house and worked well behind walls and mirrors, all the way around. Impressive .

No modifications. Just plug the trainer jack.
You should also bind the receiver.

well the recivier seems to be bind cause i get the telemetry back on the display,...but when i move the sick noting moove, but if i turn of the TX the RX go solid red,so it's mean the they are linked but there is somenthing wron with ppm input......somepeoples say somenthing about the ppm voltage that is not enough from the spektrum radio, that'S why I asked you if u made some more than solder a mono cable to the wire.......i'm gonna keep on ridding around i hope is not a hardware problem..

When you plug the trainer jack the radio goes on automatically. I didn't make any mod on dx6i.
Maybe on other spektrum model you have problems with ppm. Also check if you have 2 wires connected, ground and ppm.
